Federal Agents Detain High School Student in Oregon
Nov, 24 2025
In Oregon, federal immigration agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) forcibly removed a 17-year-old high school student from his vehicle while he was on a lunch break. The incident involved agents breaking the driver's side window of the car driven by Christian Jimenez, a senior at McMinnville High School. Despite Jimenez identifying himself as a U.S. citizen, an agent reportedly dismissed his claim and ordered him to exit the vehicle. According to Jimenez's brother, the student was subjected to racial profiling and sustained injuries from the shattered glass. Following the incident, Jimenez was taken to an ICE facility in Portland and was released later that day. He has since been charged with 'interference or obstruction of an investigation.' This event highlights ongoing concerns regarding the tactics employed by federal immigration authorities and their implications for community safety and civil rights.
