On the evening of November 22, 2025, a shooting incident occurred during a tree-lighting ceremony in Concord, North Carolina, injuring four individuals. Reports indicate that 18-year-old Nasir Ahma Bostic, one of the alleged shooters, sustained injuries and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. He is expected to be arrested upon his release and faces charges including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and inciting a riot. A second suspect, an unnamed juvenile, was also injured and is hospitalized in critical condition, with similar charges anticipated after his release. Additionally, 17-year-old Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic is being charged as an adult with accessory after the fact and inciting a riot. The other two injured individuals were both 17 years old. Concord Police Chief Jimmy Hughes described the event as a night intended for community celebration that was disrupted by what he termed senseless violence, affecting all attendees. He acknowledged the community's resilience and the prompt response from local businesses, first responders, and law enforcement, which helped to evacuate the area and prevent further injuries while identifying the suspects involved.
