Support for President Donald Trump among Latino voters has diminished considerably since the start of his second term. According to CNN data chief Harry Enten, Trump's approval rating with this demographic has dropped sharply, particularly regarding immigration policies. In October 2024, Trump was nearly tied with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on immigration issues, but by late October 2025, he faced a -38 net approval rating among Latinos on this topic.

In early February 2025, Trump's net approval rating with Latinos was -2, but it plummeted to -34 by late October, indicating a significant shift in sentiment. This decline in support has had repercussions in gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia, where Latino voters showed strong support for Democratic candidates. For instance, in Union City, New Jersey, Democrat Mikie Sherrill outperformed Harris by 52 points, while in Manassas Park, Virginia, Democrat Abigail Spanberger exceeded Harris by 22 points.

Enten noted that the changes in Latino voting patterns are indicative of a broader trend, suggesting that Trump's declining popularity is influencing down-ballot races. He emphasized that the shift of Latino voters back to the Democratic Party in 2025 contrasts sharply with their support in 2024, attributing this change to Trump's actions and policies.
