A jury in Green County Circuit Court has convicted 21-year-old Logan Kruckenberg Anderson of first-degree intentional homicide for the fatal shooting of his newborn daughter, Harper. The verdict was reached on November 5, 2025, following a deliberation period of just over two hours. The incident occurred in January 2021 when Anderson was 16 years old and his girlfriend was 14.

Harper was born on January 5, 2021, after her mother gave birth in a bathtub. Initially, the couple claimed they intended to place the baby for adoption through a Snapchat arrangement, but this narrative quickly fell apart during the investigation. Anderson later admitted to taking the infant into nearby woods, where he left her exposed to the elements before shooting her twice in the head after she cried. He subsequently covered her body with snow.

Authorities located Harper's remains after Anderson directed them to the site. Prosecutors characterized the act as an attempt to eliminate a perceived problem, with Assistant District Attorney Adrienne Blais stating, "It’s about one person fantasizing playing house. It’s about one person bent on erasing a problem, because that was what Harper was to him. A problem to screw up his life, so he got rid of her, so he just tried to make her go away."

The defense, represented by attorney Kevin Smith, contended that both teenagers had been dishonest and urged jurors to consider the physical evidence over Anderson's confessions. However, the jury found him guilty on all counts, including concealing a corpse. Anderson now faces a mandatory life sentence, with his sentencing hearing scheduled for March 16, 2026.
